Fiona Halsberghe-Murphy
Therapist
B.A. Psychotherapy ('27)
I am a trainee counsellor with a diverse academic background in psychology, education, and religion, which profoundly shapes my therapeutic approach. My studies in psychology provide a foundation for understanding human behaviour, emotional patterns, and mental health. Education has strengthened my ability to communicate, support learning and growth, and facilitate reflective thinking with clients. My background in religion offers a unique lens for exploring life’s fundamental questions—about meaning, purpose, morality, suffering, and the self—which often underpin the challenges clients bring to therapy. I am particularly interested in working with individuals experiencing depression, struggling with self-acceptance, or seeking to understand how their past—especially childhood and teenage experiences—shapes their present and future. My approach is client-centred, providing a safe and empathetic space where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. Drawing on my multidisciplinary background, I support clients in connecting with deeper existential questions, reflecting on their personal narratives, and developing a compassionate understanding of themselves. By combining insight into the past with practical strategies for the present, I empower clients to gain clarity, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Daragh Kinsella

Hi, I’m Daragh, a Dublin-based, pre-accredited Psychotherapist in training. I come from a background in music performance and the creative sector, along with experience in the corporate world. My own journey through therapy, and my experience as a vocalist, has deepened my belief in the transformative power of giving voice to our inner emotional lives. I believe that expressing ourselves with vulnerability, acceptance, and authenticity can be profoundly healing. I’m currently in my third year of a BA (Hons) in Psychotherapy & Counselling at DBS. As Carl Rogers said, each person holds within themselves the capacity for positive change. My goal is to provide a safe, empathetic space and a collaborative therapeutic relationship to support and nurture that process. Modalities / Approaches: Person-Centred, Rogerian, Integrative, Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic.

Bremeline Muthurajah

Currently in the third year of my BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Dublin Business School, I’m a counselling and psychotherapy student in training. I come from a background in innovation, events, and hospitality, where my work has always been focused on supporting others and fostering meaningful connection. My own journey into psychotherapy began in 2018, shaped by personal experiences that highlighted the importance of inclusive therapeutic spaces. My approach is integrative and person-centred, grounded in cultural awareness and the mind–body connection. I aim to create a collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences, deepen self-understanding, and move towards greater self-acceptance and authenticity. My interests include intersectionality, sexual and gender diversities, and cross-cultural experiences. I work with adults, including those identifying as LGBTQI+ or neurodiverse, as well as those in same-sex or non-traditional relationships. I offer face-to-face sessions and practise in accordance with the guidelines and Code of Ethics of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

Brian O'Connor
Therapist
B.A. Psychotherapy
I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. My own life experiences and my experience of being in therapy inspired me to pursue this line of work. My pronouns are he/him, and I identify as a gay man. I work from an integrative framework, and through a gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity (GSRD) lens. I also work as a couples therapist, which I love and I’d be delighted to connect with more LGBTQIA+ folk looking for some relationship therapy. My personal interests include: Exploring all forms of romantic relationships - from monogamous to polyamorous, open, and everything else in between. Working with people of all sexual orientations. Shame - it's heavy, it weighs us down, but often it's not ours to carry the burden. I also have a special interest in the area of Chemsex, having completed my research project on the topic. My approach is sex positive and non-judgmental, and I understand the limited support and awareness in this area within the therapeutic space. Anyone seeking support around Chemsex and addiction will be welcomed with open arms, understanding, and compassion. I get it. It's exciting. It's fun to start with, but sometimes it can grab a hold of us. I currently have availability online and on Fridays during the day and one evening friday slot at a South William Street location. Please feel free to reach out or give us a share.

Therapy can provide substantial and lasting benefits to everyone! People bring in a range of issues, past, present and future.
This can range from;
- Managing Emotions: Anger,
- Navigating Depression, Grief or Anxiety
- Building towards the life you want
- Conflict: Family, Relational and Workplace
- Gender, Sexuality and Identity
- Living with more creativity and meaning
- Figuring out "Who am I?" or "What do I want?"
Many attend in response to challenges or losses, but indeed, a growing number of people attend therapy as a powerful space to pre-empt issues, strengthen resolve and maintain the quality of their life through the non-judgmental space and listening ear of a professional.
What is discussed between you and your counsellor is help under strictest ethical and legal boundaries of confidence. Our counsellors practice with strict adherence to professional best practices of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP): link below.
There are, however some limited exceptions to this confidence wherein
- The client is in demonstrable risk of harm to self or others
- There is a disclosure regarding the safeguarding of young persons and vulnerable persons
- For clinical supervision; where a practitioner (under best practice guidelines) may occasionally discuss casework in strictest confidence with their own clinical supervisor.

Booking & Contracting
Upon booking an initial session, a fee in advance will be taken to hold your spot, whereupon payment will be processed at the end of each subsequent session.
You and your therapist will engage with a standard contract outlining a working agreement and each respective policy.
Cancellation
As per standard practice, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy for all booked appointments.
Attendance
As with convention and best practice, we offer services for those who are seeking to engage with a conscious and consistent therapy journey. For this reason, therapy is generally offered on a weekly basis and at a regular time and day that is held for you.
Health Insurance
Where your chosen therapist is accredited, receipts can be issued for your use against your given health insurance policy. IACP-accredited counsellors are eligible to work with main healthcare providers.
Quality Oversight
Counsellors on the team have been personally elected and interviewed for suitability for work in this centre from the highly regarded Psychotherapy training programme in Dublin Business School. They are fully insured, Garda vetted and receive regular clinical supervision both from their trainers and outside personal supervisors. Their work is also conducted strictly adherent to counselling governing bodies IACP and IAHIP, respectively.
Confidentiality and GDPR
Therapeutic work is conducted with the highest standards of confidentiality and adherence to GDPR in accordance with the IACP code of ethics.
There are, however, limited exceptions to client-therapist confidentiality: primarily where there is a substantial concern for the safety of you or others and/or if a disclosure has been made pertaining to past and/or current harm to minors or vulnerable persons.
Additionally, in support of ethical practice, it is standard practice for your counsellor to bring some materials from their work into clinical supervision. In this process a specially trained and experienced therapist will 'supervise' the quality and effectiveness of your counsellors work to ensure standards are held and the welfare of you the client is paramount.

Court Litigation and other services
We do not offer services pertaining to court litigation or letters for securing workplace leave.
This is a common question, and it is entirely up to the client. Some individuals enjoy having an hour weekly where they can enjoy a totally non-directive and non-judgemental space outside of daily life. In this space one can try a new way of being, voice worries or hopes and help reflect on the life they wish to have.
This is a natural concern for many commencing therapy or resuming after a break. We invite those curious to avail of a free brief consultation call with one of our directions. Here we can help you clarify what might be most helpful in therapy i.e.
My counsellors background
Therapist approach
Practitioner identity (e.g. gender, age, ethnicity)
We manage this to be a swift and discrete process.
1) We invite you to reach out via email, text or phone.
2) One of our directors will invite you for a free consultation (call or zoom).
3) We will discuss your preferences and goals and offer you a counsellor (if you have not chosen yet)
4) You will be invited to engage for an initial session with chosen counsellor where;
5) You can decide to commence a therapeutic journey.
When you have found a suitable day and time, you will be welcomed by your counsellor and given a chance to commence how you like.
For some this may begin formally by going through one's history and presenting issues or indeed, it can be informal.
This session will be an open and pressure free meeting to both introduce your story and voice questions and preferences. Are therapists are highly trained and adept at creating a bespoke therapy experience for you.
Therapy is different for everyone, however the process typically commences by ascertaining your own hopes and goals for the process, wherein a list of outcomes or goals may be collaborated on.
In best practice counsellors review with their clients and invite feedback every 6 to 8 meetings to ensure the process is on track and you are happy with the work.
Regardless of one's approach, best empirical evidence indicates that regular feedback and maintenance of goals and the helping alliance leads to best outcomes.
If you are enjoying the process but feel there is something that could be changed or improved upon, we invite you to bring this to the attention of your counsellor. Therapists are highly trained to receive feedback and work organically to meet the client in their needs for better outcomes.
This could be a range of things such e.g.
- Less or more interaction from the counsellor
- Be more or less challenging
- Give me resources and/or homework or refrain from this
- There is something missing in terms of identity or culture that is clashing (e.g. race, gender, sexuality)
- I would like to change time or day or take a break etc.
If your concern is different or not listed here, you are invited to get in touch with one of our directors.
If you have an important question regarding therapy, you are welcome to email or book a consultation and we would be happy to answer it for you.
